Foundations in Perinatal Mental Health FREE online Training.

This training covers key concepts and practices in the prevention, identification and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), as well as how to link parents to support and treatment. In this training we will discuss the risk factors, etiology, and symptomatology of PMADs, high risk populations for experiencing PMADs, medication in the perinatal period, screening tools, effective referral, and resource and referrals. Community discussion for each county will be held in the afternoon.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
Learn about the Spectrum of Perinatal Mental Health
Screen a parent for risk factors leading to perinatal mood and anxiety disorders by identifying at least four risk factors.
Screen a parent for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders by identifying at least three symptoms.
Describe medications used during pregnancy and breastfeeding to treat perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Learn about local resources for new parent support.
